Akihabara-based maid cafe @home cafe (“at-home cafe”) will present a special Hello Kitty collaboration cafe from January 21 – March 29, 2020.

The limited-time event is the sixth year in a row that @home cafe has teamed with Sanrio to create original collaboration dishes, shop interiors, and collectible merchandise for the “masters and princesses” who visit the world-famous cafe from around the world.

@home cafe’s Legendary Maid Hitomi has once again designed the colorful menu and maid outfits that will be presented during the @home cafe x Sanrio event.

“We hope we can create a dreamingly joyful experience at our maid cafe, especially since 2020 is an Olympic year in Tokyo,” said Hitomi. “We’re so excited that Hello Kitty and her twin sister Mimmy are joining us this year!”

Since 2015, @home cafe has featured Sanrio characters such as My Melody, Cinnamoroll, and Pompompurin in special designs created as a treat for fans. For 2020, Sanrio has designed a special “moe” version of Hello Kitty and Mimmy wearing @home cafe’s maid uniforms.

The @home cafe x Hello Kitty collaboration includes menu items such as “Hello Kitty Kawaii♡Pink Curry Rice”, a “Hello Kitty Moe Moe Parfait”, and limited edition character merchandise including a lunch tote, keychain, and deluxe hand mirror.

“@home cafe” (at-home cafe) was established in 2004 and is the longest-running food and entertainment maid cafe in Akihabara.

Led by world-famous maid Hitomi, one of the cafe’s original members and now its Chief Branding Officer, @home cafe welcomes masters and princess of all ages and nationalities to its 6 “mansions” in the center of Akihabara and 2 new locations in Osaka.

@home cafe provides guests with happy, family-friendly entertainment and delicious “kawaii”-themed food and drinks as 400 of the world’s top-level maids cast a spell to make everything magical!

“Moe moe kyun” – the original “maid spell” created by Hitomi – has become famous to fans of maid cafes and Akihabara culture across the world.

Starting in 2015, @home cafe has collaborated with Sanrio characters Hello Kitty, Gudetama, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, and Pompompurin, where guests at @home cafe’s mansions can enjoy special collaboration dishes and cute, character-matching maid uniforms.

Every year, the “@home cafe maids of the year” ranking is held, where the year’s top premium maids are selected and awarded additional duties as maid culture ambassadors. @home cafe premium maids have made special appearances at international events in the United States, Chile, Mexico, Russia, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia, delighting masters and princesses with authentic Japanese maid culture and “moe”.

@home cafe’s goal is to serve maid culture all over the world, moving further forward each year to more countries and pop culture events!

As the leading company in the maid cafe industry, @home cafe continues to expand and operate high value-added services, elevating the social status of maid cafes, and providing excellent customer experiences. @home cafe is dedicated to taking on new challenges and developing activities that exceed the highest standards of quality and enjoyment and keep @home cafe at the forefront of the maid cafe industry.
