On November 13 and 14, on the fifth anniversary of their major-label debut, SILENT SIREN held the final Japanese performances of their 26-show tour, “5th ANNIVERSARY SILENT SIREN LIVE TOUR 2017 — The New World” at Nippon Budokan. Following their Nippon Budokan debut on January 17, 2015, this was the all-female band’s second appearance at Japan’s rock mecca, this time holding a back-to-back two-day event.
On November 13th, the first day of the “Miracle” event, SILENT SIREN played a set centered around the defining songs of their five-year history since their major-label debut, also including rare songs reaching back to their formation two years before that. The band ended their show with a crowd-pleasing encore of “Fujiyama Disco”, their first single released from Universal EMI Records in March earlier this year.

Hinanchu (drums): The responses overseas are always different, and I’m surprised every time. We could be playing the same song in two different places and get completely opposite reactions! And in America, everyone has such big reactions every time! No matter what the reaction is, we feel a type of unity every time we play for an audience, and we enjoy that so much. We’re happy when everyone forgets about being embarrassed and just makes a lot of noise!

Suu: I wrote JUST MEET while watching a high school baseball game. I love high school baseball and always wanted to write a song that captured the feeling I get when I watch it. The lyrics are pop, but the sound is very strong and a little manly, maybe? That contrast and catchy sound makes this a song that truly represents SILENT SIREN!

Following live performances in Hong Kong and Indonesia in September, Japanese girls rock band SILENT SIREN completed the Asian leg of their SILENT SIREN WORLD TOUR 2017 “The New World” in Taipei, Tawian, on October 4th. SILENT SIREN (“SaiSai”) delighted longtime fans with hits “Stella☆”, “Joshikou Sensou”, and “Cherry Bomb”, plus new songs receiving their first live overseas performances, including “Fujiyama Disco” and their latest single “JUST MEET”, released October 11th worldwide.
