RMMS-Shoko-Nakagawa-JaME-interview-2018-1

Listening to many anisongs in my teenage days became an asset to me being a performer these days. I’m personally not really good at killing time; I can’t really sit still. I’m that kind of person, and whenever I have a lot of time, I try to analyze, listen to new anisongs or anisongs I haven’t really listened to before, or I try to watch anime even for one episode. So I try to do something.

RMMS-Yuki-Kajiura-JaME-interview-2018-1

Yuki Kajiura: Japanese animation has a really wide reach, and is accepted throughout the world, which is something I can truly see occurring. It’s part of my job so it’s really interesting to see. Also, I’m really happy that our culture and music is enjoyed by people all over the world. It’s amazing that that feeling even extends to music. Even if it’s short, I would love to do a live show here in Los Angeles and would love to continue this journey. I’d be really happy if people could enjoy anime and music together.

RMMS-The-Idolmaster-Cinderella-Girls-JaME-interview-2018-1

Tomoyo Kurosawa: Even in games, animation, and concerts, I don’t know any other group as unique as CINDERELLA GIRLS, in spite of the number of idols belonging to one group. Even though it’s a one-group concert, I think that it feels like a festival because of the many unique individuals and that’s what makes the CINDERELLA GIRLS’ live show interesting.

RMMS-SILENT-SIREN-JaME-interview-2017-A

Suu: I wrote JUST MEET while watching a high school baseball game. I love high school baseball and always wanted to write a song that captured the feeling I get when I watch it. The lyrics are pop, but the sound is very strong and a little manly, maybe? That contrast and catchy sound makes this a song that truly represents SILENT SIREN!

RMMS-URBANGARDE-Yoko-Hamasaki-JaME-interiew-2016A

The concept of your new solo album, Blue Forest, revolves around the themes of ‘blue’ and ‘love.’ What kind of message do you want to deliver to listeners through these themes? How is your message important?

Yoko Hamasaki: ‘Blue’ is a mysterious, wonderful word. It can express a depressed feeling, and it’s also used to express ‘immaturity’, meaning not being able to grow up enough. And I simply imagined rain, the deep sea, and pieces of glass. ‘Forest’ is actually not a forest in nature. I got the idea from high-rise buildings, the streetscapes of cities, and the nightscape, and I tried to blend visual images and electro sounds.

When it comes to ‘love’, I especially focused on sexual love. If you were to set the goal of love as marriage, you could be united with only one person, so other love relationships would eventually reach sad, agonizing farewells. Thinking like this, most relationships have bad endings, and I wanted to express the ‘dark’ and ‘shade’ of love rather than the excitement.

Performing at the Nippon Budokan has been a long-term goal for you and you will finally get the chance to perform there on January 1st next year. What kind of preparations are you making in order to be in tip-top condition for the big day?

Yudai: It’s such a blessing to be able to stand on the Budokan stage, but nobody knows if it will be a success or not. To make it a success, we need to make the hall tour a success. Right now, the members are working together to make the hall tour successful, with the motivation to put everything we have into each moment.
