Yoko Yazawa

Born in Tokyo, Japan, Yoko Yazawa moved to Los Angeles at the age of 12. After graduating high school, she returned to Japan for her university studies and began vocal training, influenced by her years of exposure to American rock music.

In 2008, she began a brief collaboration in the music group The Generous, releasing one album, the generous (2008), and a follow-up single, “Heart” (2009), each containing opening themes for the television anime Skip Beat!

Yoko Yazawa released her self-titled solo album YOKO YAZAWA, in 2010, featuring “Honey Bunny” and “Sugar!Sugar!!Sugar!!!” (iTunes Japan exclusive). In 2011, she released another digital exclusive track, “Rashinban,” which was later included in her second solo album Give Me!!! (2011).

In 2012, Yoko Yazawa released her collaboration EP, Yoko Yazawa and The Plasmars – Route 405, featuring a cover of Suzy Quatro’s “The Wild One.”
