Singer-songwriter Rihwa was born in Sapporo, Japan. After finishing junior high school, she traveled to Canada for her high school education, and then returned to Japan to begin her music career. She released a series of independent-label singles and one album before her major-label debut single “Change” was released by Toy’s Factory in 2012.
Also in 2012, Rihwa performed at large Japanese music Festivals JOIN ALIVE 2012, Summer Sonic 2012, and Sweet Love Shower 2012, and released her second major single “Yakusoku” as an insert song in the animated film Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning. In 2013, Rihwa collaborated with Grammy-winner Michelle Branch for the single “Good Love,” and created the song “Last Love” as the theme for Japanese television drama Last Cinderella starring Haruma Miura and Ryoko Shinohara. Rihwa continued her live performances across Japan with her “Rihwa “Grrrr!!!” Live Tour 2013″ and an appearance at ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2013. In 2014, Rihwa released the theme song for the Haruma Miura drama Boku no Ita Jikan and announced a one-man tour of Japan for spring 2014. |
