Anime credits include: Naruto Shippuden, Eureka Seven AO, Duel Masters Victory V3 Vo & Gt: Isaac The four members of Hemenway first met while attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. After their graduation in 2008, the two Korean-Americans, Isaac and Charm formed a songwriting team as they went back to their homes in LA. Growing up with great influences from Japanese music and culture, Isaac and Charm were determined to pursue their music careers in Japan. Finally, in summer of 2010, the two set their foot in the land of their dreams. As classmates Toshi and Ogaching reunite in Japan and start a band, “Hemenway” begins to pave their way in the music industry. The name “Hemenway” comes from a street name in Boston, where the four members lived close by and had unforgettable memories. In 2012, Hemenway performed at the Summer Sonic and Rockin’ On Japan music festivals, and made a special appearance at Japan Expo in Paris, France. The band also performed the track “Caress of Venus” on L’arc en Ciel’s 2012 tribute album. Also in 2012, Hemenway released “Uraheme – Welcome to the Other Side,” featuring a cover of Perfume’s “Dream Fighter” with new English lyrics by Isaac and Charm, and “Gensou to Dance,” co-written by Shindo Haruichi from Porno Graffitti. In 2013, Hemenway began a special campaign to release 10 singles in 10 months, beginning in January 2013 with “Future Kousatsu”. In April 2013, they were selected to sing the opening theme for anime Duel Masters Victory V3. With their love for the Japanese culture and their ability to freely manipulate three languages (Japanese, English, and Korean), “Hemenway” will continue to pursue and create a whole new wave of music. |
